I have a small closed network of PCBs, each with an ESP-32D as its controller. I am using an 18V power source that is connected to each with CAT-V on a custom (not ethernet pinout) format to feed the 18V and ground with two twisted pairs. However, when I power the network and connect the nodes, I am frying the ESP-32s. I verified that the 5V pin on the ESP-32 is indeed only getting 5V so it is not being overdriven there.
