Website Migration Project – Web Developer

Quindell Portfolio Plc delivers business transformation and technology enabled 'Champion & Challenger' re-engineering with sector leading expertise in Software, Consulting & Outsourcing in its key markets Insurance, Telecommunications and Related Sectors. You will be working on a web based project, not only involving Quindell’s main site but 20+ other web sites. Within this position, you’ll be working closely with our Marketing Executives and Web Development Team; involved on various projects at the same time to ensure localization and personalisation. We are looking for an established backend web developer. Someone who can not only suggest and advise on better ways for our testing to live environment but also implement those ideas through the development of a cohesive migration and de-commissioning strategy. Frontend design/development would also be a bonus. Extensive knowledge in not only the setup and workings of Joomla, but as a Joomla developer would also rate you highly for this project. We are looking for someone that can work well within a team, but also be able to work to strict and short deadlines in a fast paced environment. To be successful for this role you must have at least the following: • Experience of web site consolidation and decommissioning • Joomla and supporting technologies • Application and Database Design • Application testing and implementation • Server Administration • Advanced Secure Scripting Techniques • Strong understanding of MySQL, including Complex Queries, Replication and Indexing Experience of any of the following would be beneficial to your application: • Front End Design/Development • Responsive - Bootstrap • Having worked in a LAMP Environment • PHP • XHTML • HTML • CSS • Javascript • JQuery • Cross-Browser Web development We are offering a competitive contract rate for this position depending on experience. Hours: Mon-Fri 9am-6pm. Initially a 3 month contract, the role may evolve further and also an opportunity for the role to become permanent in the future.
