Here is an example of the article "How to
prevent post-waxing":
**What causes an ingrown hair?**
An ingrown hair is an irritated red bump that appears shortly after hair removal. An ingrown hair occurs when new hair growth gets trapped beneath the skin surface and begins to grow "into" the skin rather than "out of" the skin (thus the name ingrown hair). Bacteria are often trapped in the hair follicle, which causes inflammation, leaving the skin with red, painful, irritated bumps, which are commonly known as ingrown hairs.
**How to treat an ingrown hair:**
Let's start with what not to do. We've seen some scary information out there about removing an ingrown hair using tweezers and a sterile needle to pick and pull the ingrown from the skin after applying a hot compress. Um, ouch? Please don't remove an ingrown hair this way! Picking and pulling at an ingrown hair can lead to skin damage, scarring and further inflammation of the ingrown hair. Remember, an ingrown hair is below the skin surface.
**The safest method of ingrown removal at home is:**
• Exfoliate
• Soothe
• Reduce inflammation
