Hello It sounds like your client table requires some index tuning. This is a common issue when performing bulk imports. I can tune the system so that you can import your new data faster. My approach to tuning the system would be as follows. 1. Profile the system: indexes, queries, PHP script to find the bottleneck(s). 2. Recommend changes and discuss them with you. 3. Implement the changes. I love optimization challenges. This is an area of specialty for me. I recently tuned a database for a Oil & Gas client. The database was 100+ GB in size and queries were taking in excess of twenty minutes to complete. I was able to bring this down to five seconds with some tuning. I also optimized a Levenshtein search for a PHP+MySQL client in New Zealand. Here is the feedback he placed on my profile. "The stars aligned to find such a perfect match for this job!
