Compliant SEO friendly artist portfolio site from PSD document

I would like to work with someone to build a designers portfolio site from the design attached to this job description. I would like to try to avoid older development techniques such as slicing into tables and image based text, and strive for using more modern compliant and SEO friendly techniques. I would be relying on your expertise to come up with the best solution to work with the design at hand keeping in mind that it should be relatively easy to update for someone who has a little bit of experience in coding. I am also interested in exploring the use of some more advanced font display techniques beyond the usual web safe fonts such as google font API [login to view URL] This is not crucial but would be a huge plus.
