Product Management Utility

RE: Product Management System Overview We need to be able to load our site with hundreds of thousands of product from multiple vendors for multiple fitment applications. The collection, formatting and uploading has proven to be a complicated, not standard and un-scalable. There are many reasons for this including the quality and format of data from different vendors, lack of a documented process, using spreadsheets to manually prepare, expand, format and import the data into Volusion and other sales chammels(Amazon,Google product feeds,etc.). The purpose of this document is to plan, define and build a database application to manage the process of Product Management. This program will be based off a product data base that will house all of the products that we sell, a utility for importing and mapping vendor data into the database, expanding the data out to unique years, makes,models,fitment and sub-model applications, validating required fields, and formatting output into multiple feeds compatible with, Volusion, Amazon, Ebay, Google, Yahoo, etc. We will also have a PO module. Since all our products are in the system with the correct vendor part number we can take orders from Volusion and create PO’s from them to order from vendors This should be based off of a Mysql database a web interface
