Java Homework #2

I am taking a Java II class online. I am 48 years old and very hard working but am at my wits end. I think I have a road block in my mind on how to separate a program into classes instead of just putting everything in one class. This was my first assignment: Project 1 Use the implemenation of collection conepts to design a queue to simulate the market maker in Stock market. Your program should generate a series of stock simbols and random prices (e.g. ba 35.78 abc 33.01 lkj 23.44.....). Of course, the price should not vary in unreasonably wide range. The refresh of the new stock prices should be set to a certain time interval, for example, 2 sconds. I did this but instructor comment said: It works based on the spec, but you may want to change your design a bit to embrace for the future growth of this project. You shall not weld the GUI with the stock listing logic together. Separate your user interface with your business logic classes. The class structure shall be something like StockGUI, Stock, StockList, StockTransaction....etc. If you need to change the user interface, just replace the StockGUI with CommandLine. The Stock, StockList, STockTransaction remain unchanged. I am lost big time! When I had trouble completing this he sent me 8 pages of code ("Priority Queue") from his thesis. Not very helpful. Next assignment is to implement this LinkedList with threads: Project 2 Based on project 1, implement the stock simulation using Threads. There must be a class that either extends the Thread class or implement Runnable interface. I have received a grade for project 1 so I do not specifically need that although that is what is stopping project 2. I need project 2 and can send my code from #1 ## Deliverables I need a fully functional demo of project 2 from which to work and hopefully understand this. ## Platform Java SDK 1.4
