DATABASE SYSTEM A brief outline of what I require is: We are a Furniture removals company based in Australia, and only deal with moves within Australia. Most moves that we undertake are carried out at present by other removalists, but we are looking at purchasing new trucks to carry out our own work in the future. All quotes are based on an inventory of goods supplied by our customers, and then the volume of the goods, in cubic meters is calculated, then the move is priced, basd on cubic meters. What I require is a database system to control the flow of work, I already have a quoting sysyem in place that automaticaly calculates the volumes of any given job. This is in the form of a script which calculates about 90% of volumes, then a manual calculation is performed on any extra items the customer may have listed that were not on my online quote form. Whilst we may incorporate this quoting system into the database in future, at present i am happy with the results from the form being sent to email, and with us double checking the quotes prior to any calculations being done. I would however like the ability to import these results into a database system, preferably once they have been received and processed by my office, as when a customer books their move with us we will then have most of the relevant information already at hand. I have written two databses myself, one in access and one in Filemaker, the filemaker database is one we are currently using, but I want more from the sysytem, and this is beyond my scope. I am happy to send a copy of either or both for you to have a look at, to get a better idea of what we require.
