ASP.NET Ajax/JS Grid Value Tracker, UI Work (similar to a VERY basic shopping cart)

We have a webpage that shows sentences inside a grid.? We would like to make each integer inside the sentences able to be added to some kind of temporary holding area (similar to a shopping cart). The numbers need to be held for use on another page (calculator page).? We need an inventive way to click on any value inside of the grid and add the value to some holding area until the user decides to go to the calculator.? This is similar to holding items in a shopping cart until its time to checkout.? We want to have some kind of ajax or javascript solution that does not require a refresh every time you want to add a record to the holding area.? We also need a way for the user to actively see/track what keywords/values have been added.? We've looked at having a "Tracker" that floats on the page like the shopping cart on [login to view URL] or some kind of static box/grid at the top of the page that shows the additions as you add them.? Regardless of how it is developed it needs to be very user friendly, stable for all browsers, and perform fast. 1. Every number in the search results needs to have a "+" next to it or some kind of fancy tooltip/link so it can be added to the calculator. 2. The "Tracker" or cart needs to be visible to the user at all times if possible.? This may require placing the main results grid inside of a scrolling div to keep the page from scrolling. 3. The "Tracker" can be in the form of a modal popup but it has to be fast, and user friendly.? No major clunky poor ajax.? Ajax is fine but only if it performs well. 4. The "Tracker" needs to have a way to click a "Submit" button that will pass the array of keywords/values to another page (the calculator page).? If there is another, better way to do this I'm open to suggestions. The web page is in .net 2.0 vb.net using Telerik and the Ajax toolkit.? The grid is a telerik radgrid so it would be helpful if the developer had some experience using it.? If the solution is a javascript/ajax or some kind of link popup/script call then the grid would not need to be altered much and no knowledge of telerik would be required.? If the developer can recreate our grid (master/detail hierarchy grid) using a .net grid then we would switch.? Otherwise the developer can use trial version of the telerik dll if they feel the grid needs to change. Developer must also have a eye for UI and what looks nice and appealing. ## Deliverables If you want to try it out the basics of what we need - a grid with links/buttons/icons for numbers, when its clicked it either adds it to some kind of tracker or pops up something asking you or sends it something that tracks it.? I'm open to suggestions. This hopefully won't take a lot of programming, just a good UI solution needed for the most part.? There are many more updates remaining and if this one goes well they will be private auctions in the future.
