Repair Magento Module

I have a modified Magento module that downloads images and descriptions from IceCat. The developer that modified it isn't available so I am posting my issue here. The module was previously working well on an older server, I've migrated to a new server and have had issues with it crashing ever since. All settings are identical, I believe the issue is with some of the code itself and it is only now presenting itself. The module matches products from IceCat through the Admin Panel, selecting products and then using a drop down option called "IceCat Ajax" - this is then passed to an Ajax script that will update the products one by one. The Ajax script crashes randomly, sometime it works for up to 5000 products and other times it doesn't even begin.
