I have an entire directory of all these files in my /home/x11/.ptimetracker/ Now to my need, I need some form of report for this -- probably a bash script of some sort that can provide me a report of total time on a monthly basis can can be export of OpenOffice(Calc) or MsOffice(Excel) I am thinking of a solution using a comma seperated value (CSV) file of the following, but if you can do better please suggest: ABC :: ABC Pte Ltd,ABC - Company Strategic Deployment,0,1,0,5,1.... where the following for each ROW is true - the 1st field is the CATEGORYLIST - the 2nd field is the PROJECTLIST - the 3rd field is the total time spend on the 1st of the month - the 4th field is the total time spend on the 2nd of the month - the 5th field is the total time spend on the 3rd of the month - the 6th field is the total time spend on the 4th of the month - the 7th field is the total time spend on the 5th of the month - the 8th field is the total time spend on the 6th of the month ...... - the 31st field is the total time spend on the 29th of the month - the 32nd field is the total time spend on the 30th of the month - the 33rd field is the total time spend on the 31st of the month Note that my time report are in blocks of 15 minutes, so if I spend 15 minutes on one project, then the correct value to be input to the report is "0.25" so if I spend 30 minutes on one project, then the correct value to be input to the report is "0.50" so if I spend 45 minutes on one project, then the correct value to be input to the report is "0.75" so if I spend 1 hr 00 minutes on one project, then the correct value to be input to the report is "1.00" so if I spend 1 hr 15 minutes on one project, then the correct value to be input to the report is "1.25" so if I spend 1 hr 30 minutes on one project, then the correct value to be input to the report is "1.50" so if I spend 1 hr 45 minutes on one project, then the correct value to be input to the report is "1.75" ... I think you get the picture Exceptions? If there is mistake in any input, the it will be rounded off to the higher value. An example so if I spend 16 minutes on one project, then the correct value to be input to the report is "0.50" so if I spend 34 minutes on one project, then the correct value to be input to the report is "0.75" so if I spend 43 minutes on one project, then the correct value to be input to the report is "0.75" This is really for someone with the necessary skills to do ... I need a bash script (source and all) PS - My kudos for anyone who can do this ...
