For some of my projects, I'm also doing the physical prototype too. I'm doing product design, industrial design, reverse engineering, ideation, etc. I have over 15 years of experience working on various systems/devices across multiple industries, from concept to launch. What you need is a syncing mechanism, which to move both legs at the same time with the same angle, with minimum deviation (there will be some deviations - very small indeed, due to the plays in the mechanical parts) Would be useful to have some dimensions (if possible in mm, but I could also work in the imperial system :) ) Any info regarding the forces on the legs?... this will determine the size of the parts and also the length of the crank You required the possibility to secure at every 7.5 degrees - it is necessary to be indexed somehow on these positions? it might be necessary to have a manually operated locker for these position(s) It will also be useful if you could let me know the purpose of the mechanism - this way will figure out in a better way what's necessary (if not confidential) For any more questions, we could chat here, including the whole details of the project, final price, time frame, deliverables, etc, etc... Hi, I'm a CAD designer mechanical engineer. Today I thought to a compact mechanism that meet your requirement and now I have an idea. The mechanism will be rotated by a removable crank. In order to unlock the two branch (wings), will be necessary a short push on the crank when begin to rotate. At every 7,5 degree the two branch will lock on position and will be necessary a short push on the crank, again, in order to continue the movement. Inside the mechanism I will use gears.
