Unity dropdown menu

I need to make a drop-down menu. I'm not interested in the built-in "dropdown" in Unity that only displays text where only one element can be chosen. I need a to have a dropdown menu of sorts that consists of toggles, so that the user can pick one or more options in the dropdown list. I've made a drawing here. [login to view URL] My idea on how to make it: Create a canvas that has all of the toggles and such. Then make this canvas clickable. So once a user chooses one or more options (toggles), and clicks somewhere else (which will close the dropdown menu), then my other script will detect these changes and then do some manipulation and such (which I'll handle, of course). But if you have something else in mind, please let me know. I'm using Unity 5.5 and C#.
