Hi,
I am looking for a programmer who has previous experience with working with the now open source Quake III 3D engine.
I want several modifications made including:
1) Taking the feed from a webcam and including it as background texture.
2) Enhancing the work done of another developer who has successfully? integrated motion sensing hardware into the engine.
Basically the engine will be used to provide a form of Augmented Reality. The webcam feed will be the 'background' and the usual elements of the game will be overlayed on top. The webcam feed only needs to show to the local player, it does not have to transmit over the network to other players.
To complete the project, I will send you the motion sensing hardware and? a Augmented Reality Headset.
I have found articles that explain how live video can be integrated into the textures, just need a clever programmer to execute it.
Please only apply if you have had previous experience with the Quake III or ioQuake3 engine. I will make exceptions for those applicants that have expert level experience in other advanced 3D game engines.
This is a very interesting project and would suit someone who wants to be involved in cutting edge technology.
Thanks, John
