Video Slideshow with MIDI and Audio Sync

This Mac/PC compatible software plays movies in full screen from RAM one after another. The main features of this player is in the way those clips are played back – and more specifically how long each one is played back, the order in which they are played back and the transition style used between them. Users can affect functionality using the GUI and Preference settings. This is similar to a basic slide show like iPhoto but with some additional features for users wanting to synchronize their videos with music. The basic settings are for playback duration, transition time and transition type. We are looking for a quote and ETA for each version: Lite, Full and ProIH. All items in purple throughout this document omitted for the Lite version. We will provide all graphical assets and GUI components – you are not required to design the final GUI but we would like you to point us in the right direction for programs well suited for GUI design. We have a skilled design team in-house (see our website) but never have designed a GUI. Included in the appendix is a simple mock-up of the GUI for explanation purposes. We are interested in two code solutions for this application: #1 is the cheapest multi-platform solution you can provide. #2 is a C-based solution (C#, C++, etc) In either case we will require commented source code – and we will edit some of that code in updates in-house (new skin options for example). Some complex updates will be required of you in the future. We have C# programmers in house which is why we are asking for a few different solutions. Another big factor in this project is development time. The reason we are not doing this in-house is because we have too many other projects going on so we need help. However if it takes too long then we wont really benefit from outsourcing this one. Often this application is minimized and running in the background of another music based application. That application will also be using the audio card and MIDI inputs. Therefore it should not be mandatory to be in the foreground to run smoothly, accept hot key commands, and function as normal in all scenarios. The music application should function normally even when MLP is in full screen mode on a second monitor.
