I have a 1/2 acre wooded lot that has 1/4 of it dropping down 8 feet. I would like to build an L shaped house with a walkout basement. I would like the house to be one story and about 2,000 to 2,500 sq. feet. I would like large rooms but not necessarily lots of rooms like family rooms, bonus rooms, etc. They waste space. I would like the plan to be open and spacious with a Den/Office and 3 bedrooms. I would like a 3 car garage. It doesn't have to be attached but should have a covered breezeway between the house and the garage. I like hip roofs but not required. Please bring ideas! I am open to new ideas. Style should lean more towards traditional than modern. I am thinking of using radiant heat floors in the basement and main floor. I am 6'4" so I prefer high ceilings in the basement and main floor. I would prefer wider doors and deeper closets to accommodate my larger clothes. Most closets are too narrow and my clothes won't fit. Hallways and bathroom doors are especially cramped in most plans I have seen. I am attaching a site survey of the lot with elevations. I would like a bathroom in the basement. It is high enough to not require a lift pump. I would like the basement living space to have the outside walls free of partitions and minimal beam jacks or other structural pillars. However I would like the floors to be very stiff and not bounce when you walk on them. I would like to accommodate an outside natural gas generator with an enclosure against the house but large enough to service the unit. Pay close attention to the drainage and water run off plans with proper drainage. The land sits on a small hill but is next to a taller property.
