Finbuzz is a fast-growing company with opportunities for development in the editorial team. The freelance reporter will have a strong interest in journalism and an appetite for telling the story about life of bankers and other finance professionals. You will create an excellent database of contacts spanning bankers, traders and business executives, talking to the big name financiers as much as startups. The role will involve travelling to industry events in the UK, mostly London. WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT: To research, write and publish stories about social and cultural life of London’s finance professionals To get as many readers for those stories as possible KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Be able to write in a concise and entertaining way Turn around copy and content quickly and accurately Build contacts in financial industry in London Show initiative researching for suitable stories Meet deadlines Promote stories on social media (authors with most shares get paid more) Identify stories and subjects which will drive traffic and develop them Work with graphic editor and SMM manager to maximum effect Understand how to engage with readers within Finbuzz and keep them returning for our content MUST-HAVES An interest in financial industry Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English Journalism experience is a great boost Students are considered, too Passion for all things finance Flexible attitude to working hours across seven days A willingness to learn and embrace ongoing digital challenges such as social media
