2-minute 2D animation for promotional video.

Independent project for Vytautas Magnus University (Kaunas, Lithuania). OVERVIEW: Drawn/animated history of medieval Lithuania, Vytautas (Lithuanian hero), and the founding of Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Lithuania. Black calligraphy-style animated drawings on old brown map-texture background. I'll do the voice-over and sound effects myself, I just need the visuals. The following description is available in more detail with more specific storyboards, suggested fonts & framing recommendations. DESCRIPTION of PROJECT: Introduction: Fade from black. White background, animated logo entrance in the middle, black vignette around the frame. Logo blurs out. Faster transition, fade to white, and POW...old europe, begin story (drawn animation). "15th century. VIDEO: old map of europe, framed loosely, north africa showing, labeled "AFRICA". Map reference: [login to view URL] Write "EUROPE" across Europe. Outline Lithuania's borders in double lines (1 thick, 1 thin) and label "L I T H U A N I A" VIDEO: referring to the map: [login to view URL], pan North, zooming in slightly. VIDEO: pan East, zooming in a bit more. General frame: VIDEO: Camera zooms in again. Vytautas pops up. Should be drawn to be simple, but with crown, cape, sword. All the drawings should be in black, except his cape, which should be bordeaux (dark red, the VMU logo). VIDEO: Vytautas riding off on his horse, fighting off enemies, leading the charge in the "Battle of Grunwald", victory! VIDEO: Vytautas reappears back in the center of Lithuania in a \*poof!\* and is shown playing chess against a disgruntled, struggling opponent. \*poofs\* away, \*poofs\* in again and is shown reading/ studying from a book. VIDEO: Book disappears, Vytautas gets bigger, faces us. The words "Freedom" "Intellect" and "Understanding" pop up above his head. VIDEO: he turns to a pile of dust, vanishes. Lithuania cracks, turns into puzzle-like pieces. VIDEO: one by one, the puzzle pieces fade away, only the piece that looks like modern Lithuania should remain. As the pieces fall away, the word L I T H U A N I A gets smaller and moves into modern-day Lithuania. ...and so on. The University is founded, a tree grows out of it, fruit grows on the tree, one fruit falls & turns into the word "YOU." More specifics available.
