I have a issue with my SMTP Script showing timeout error

When the script starts SMTP for sending emails it automatically stops sending emails after some time(like 1hour or 1hr25min). The error is something like "proxy_fcgi - The timeout specified has expired - Error dispatching request". Also i need to know detailed explanation about this issue what is this issue and why is this happening? Just for the knowledge.
