Input check boxes need to be CSS styled

Styling of check boxes for a wordpress project.
My current website is www.styleiq.co.uk.
On the left hand side are check boxes, I would like these to be styled in to images that are more pleasing on the eye. Similar to this page:

If anybody has any other methods that would work I am open to suggestions.
The issue I have is that the check boxes are generated as part of a wordpress widget, if you have experience with wordpress, php and css and this this could be done then please bid.
