Our company is called DVO Enterprises. We produce cookbook/recipe software called Cook'n. It has been developed by our owner who is now far too busy to do all the coding himself. We are looking to outsource the upcoming development of a new version. We want to get a feel for working with the company that would be working on this large upgrade. So we want to start by outsourcing one function and see how the flow and quality works out.

We want to improve our print functionality of the Cook'n software by adding a Print Preview feature. To achieve this, we would like someone to create a simple, stand-alone Print application that:

1) Reads in the data that the user desires to print.

2) Displays this data in a typical Print Preview fashion

3) Prints the data!

To be clear, when we are finished, the Cook'n software will work as follows:

1) The user clicks the Print button in Cook'n

2) Instead of printing the data as normal, Cook'n will export the information to a file and then launch the Print application that you create.

3) Your application will read in this data, show a Print Preview window, and ultimately, print the information.

The printing styles/formats in this new application should be similar to the current styles/formats offered in Cook'n now. We will provide source code if needed.

Currently when a user clicks print, they get the option of printing to a 3x5, 4x6 recipe card (including specific position and style) 8 ½ X 11 sheet of paper or gives custom sheet specs.

We want all the current functionality to remain. Some features we would like to see added would be:

- Allowing the customer to print pictures that are also part of the recipe

- Ability to print long recipes on the back of the recipe cards...instead of flowing over to the next recipe card. To achieve this, the application must read ahead and identify recipes with too many lines to fit on the card and have the ability to prompt the user to pull the card out after its printed and insert the other way so the recipe can continue to print on the other side of the card.

We are shopping this out and looking for bids from different companies. Please respond with a good, but honest bid. Time and cost are factors that we will be looking at. But obviously quality needs to be very high as well.
