My travel blog is called The Travel Rag. Basically, 'rag' is a British colloquial term for a newspaper, so I am looking for 5 travel writers from anywhere in the world to come together and write one 500 word article to begin with. Granted, we only have 1,600 followers on Instagram, but it has only been 2 months, so we are growing fast.
I will edit and publish these articles in a digital travel newspaper format. At first, the role will be UNPAID, but as the channel and digital newspaper gains traction, the role will become paid, and if there is demand for it, more work will be required. This is pretty much a start-up, so if you are looking for paid work right away, this role is not for you. However, if you are up for something which will begin as a casual one article per month, with the hope of going long term and generously paid, then I urge you to apply. Once the newspaper gains sponsors and advertising, I will pay USD$0.03 per word, which means for an article of about 500 words, you're looking at USD$15. If the channel and newspaper does better than expected, this payment will be raised in order to compensate your hard work, no questions asked.
You will be writing from your own travel experiences centred around food, culture, traditions, the best ways to travel between A and B, hot travel tips, and pretty much any topic that will educate the audience in a fun and inspirational manner in which you yourself have experienced first-hand.
The goal is to begin with one 'newspaper' per month, and if there is demand, it will be a fortnightly or weekly thing. Also, I will be putting together a video version of the newspaper to upload on YouTube.
Experience with Slack is a must as we will be using this to collaborate. You can be located anywhere in the world, however you must be able to speak, read and write perfect UK English.
