I have more than 4 years of experience deploying nginx servers in reverse mode and dockerized (in optimized armored machines) in compute engine to handle http requests and redirect them to https requests of services deployed in App Engine or Compute Engine. All domains complying with security directives (OWASP) for headers and with free https certificates for automatic renewal and managed by Google Cloud. To protect them from DDoS attacks, we implement load balancers that we associate with the nginx instance groups (dockerzada) to the GCP Cloud Armor service.
