Using fNIRS in Usability Testing: Understanding the Effect of Web Form Layout on Mental Workload

CHI '16 Proceedings of the 2016 CHI

Used a brain scanner (fNIRS) to see if it can be used for measurement of mental workload when doing usability tests. We did ~20 user tests with the brain scanner on the participant's head asking them to fill a insurance claim form. Fortunately, it turned out that this type of a brain scanner is suitable for user testing and mental workload measurement.
