Having worked an array of different positions in different fields, I am looking to capitalize on my wealth of knowledge. I have worked many years in customer service, most recently as a lead billing specialist and client services representative within a SaaS-based Canadian Medical company. I love working in the tech field and have been adding to my knowledge by learning various coding technologies such as API, GIT, GitHub, Bootstrap, Hosting, Flexbox, SEO, Responsive & Advanced HTML, CSS & JS. In May 2022, I began learning React. I am very interested in the prospect of taking on a role as a Junior Front-End Developer one day. With clients I am compassionate, friendly and deeply empathetic and have demonstrated on many occasions my ability to assist in Client Retention using those traits. Also, I am a determined and focused learner and have shown my ability to pick-up new technologies quickly in order to train clients and co-workers on new software features and products. I have a history of working in the Social Services field, specifically with women, seniors and children who have experienced violence, addiction and mental health issues. I graduated from George Brown in 2013 (Assaulted Women's and Children's Counselling / Advocacy) with Honours. I have experience facilitating group therapy and day-programs, completed intake for new shelter residents, and provided one-on-one counselling. I have experience with working with women struggling with addiction and compassionately assisting them with accessing harm-reduction services. I am also very open to the prospect of re-entering the Social Services field if an opportunity presents itself. In the past year, I decided to try a new route to expand on my skill set. I have been working successfully in a factory where I have learned to assemble / disassemble and operate complex machinery in order to fill cosmetic orders. In the short time that I have worked there, I took on the role of a compounder's assistant and my Team Leads have seen my work ethic and moved me into a position where I have been training new staff on machine operation & product packaging. In my free-time, I love to travel and am excited to be exposed to new experiences - I have visited over 30 countries in the last 6 years. I also use my free-time to attend workshops / bootcamps to learn new skills which I know will assist me in my future career goals.
