TV documentary made in bilingual Canada and geared at bilingual - French - deutsch - a.r.t.e. g.i.e.e. - highlighting the uncanny first US-Iran encounter by ways and means of Tocqueville: Democracy in America and his assistant, correspondent and friend Arthur de Gobineau, reporting live from Persia to the father of global democracy as we knew it - how diplomacy always runs the risk of degenerating in mad policy: diplomacy's anagram. Originally and ideally intended to rely on on-location from Gobineau Bay, Terre Neuve, Canada - all the way to Gobineau's two prolonged journeys in Central Asia i.e. Iran, its religions and philosophies: see my English translation below. After more than 20 years of research on their exchange between 1843 and 1859, I have come to think of the latter as a French' Lawrence of Arabia' - same scope and stature geo-politically, Arabia with British T.E. Lawrence; and in Persia, a French 'gentleman in the outposts'. Always looking forward to receive any offer to translate corporate material: English to French; French to English; deutsch to English.
