How can I guarantee that it would be done in 72 hours without looking at the codebase? If you don't have any problem you can share codebase by sharing your screen with me through TeamViewer so at least I can check it and told you the estimated time. As you are suspecting large log files are getting created because there are errors in the script which are in repeating nature. Its very easy task for me as I faced same problem and solve it. I have an application that is running on a stand-alone panel PC in a C#. It performs some typical logging operations to a text file. The PC has some limited amount of disk space to store these logs as they grow. What I need to do is be able to specify the maximum size that a log file is allowed to be. If, when attempting to write to the log, the max size is exceeded, new data will be written to the end of the log and the oldest data will be purged from the beginning. I search more for a typical file manipulation techniques to keep a file under a certain size. After some time I technique to handle this is to have two log files which are half the maximum size each. I simply rotate between the two as I reach the max size of each file. Rotating to a file causes it to be overwritten with a new file. I also found other ways to solve this error, when you contact me I'll discuss with you if you want. This task is easy and should be done in 72 hours but I need to see the codebase once. Ping me.
