Hardware/Software Golf Measurement Device

I please need the following hardware/software analysis device/application developed (first as a prototype produced more quickly and inexpensively), operating pretty much as it is named, which is a “Golf Grip Hand Structure Efficiency Device.”

As currently envisioned (and certainly changeable), small wireless sensors, perhaps 9DOF absolute orientation sensors, would be attached to the back side of each hand of a golfer, basically opposite of yet equivalent to the palms.

The sensors and needed software would track the 3D orientations of the hands independently of each other. Logging and displaying this data, along with computing the orientation differences of the hands, are the core requirements of the device and application.

A simple user interface might comprise a visual representation of a pair of hands (might initially be just a pair of line vectors) basically centered (aside from orientation changes) on a display. Mathematical information should also be provided regarding 3D orientation values (and value comparisons) of the hands independently and relatively to each other with respect to time and a swing. A taring or comparable function that electronically aligns the sensors/hands at the start of a swing would feasibly be an important feature (optional for a user) to help make certain analyses more convenient and easier to understand.

From this foundation, additional yet still basic functions are needed for visually and mathematically comparing the data described above for at least two different swing specimens. This might be accomplished in side-by-side and/or overlaid manners as two possibilities. I am surely open to any other alternatives as well.

Compared swing specimens need to be synced to each other as well as possible for accurate analyses to take place. Data should be visually rotatable or otherwise comparable in 3D on the display to critically observe hand orientation values along various planes of space throughout a swing.

The previous contractor presented a nice foundational visual cube that was rotatable. (I do not know if this type of visual was hard unique work or is pretty standard and preexisting display stuff today [as I have seen them around]). However, he was unable to comprehend the nature of the orientation data to be input to and output from the underlying cube functioning. So I am not really sure where this leaves the present state of the project overall (except for now having even less money to spend on it).

One possible forward feature might include linking a video (even 2D) to corresponding sensor orientation data to better reference where during a swing the hand orientations are what they are for a golfer. Another might be the use of sensor hardware and/or software capable of not just measuring hand orientation data, but also of precisely tracking/displaying the movements/positions of the hands in 3D space as they occur during a swing. These potential more advanced features might never actually be needed after evaluating a more rudimental version of the application, but at least considering them might be helpful toward best developing the needed hardware and/or software.

Off-the-shelf sensors would reasonably be used to first get a successfully operating prototype in hand less expensively and more quickly to evaluate. But such sensors can still have varying specifications, so appropriate hardware knowledge to help choose the best sensors based on the above description of operation would seemingly be helpful. The previous contractor may have used wired Arduino in his attempt, which would have been just fine if he was otherwise able to understand the project basics before quitting. It has not been conclusively decided yet whether an initial version might best comprise a desktop or phone application as examples.

Hourly or project rate proposals can be considered, and additional documentation can be provided for any interested and qualified parties. Thank you.
