Experienced Freelance Interior Designer needed at busy residential Interior Design firm in downtown Toronto – LUX Design Inc.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Performing initial design consultations and promoting LUX services to the client, converting consults to active projects.
Creation of conceptual design, cad planning (plans, elevations, millwork drawings, tender packages etc.)
Sourcing of all goods and materials required for design jobs
Creation of sketches, or renderings needed for the presentation
Obtain quotations from trades, contractors and vendors - negotiate prices where possible
Create/Oversee creation of digital presentation of design package to the client - completing revisions if required
Implementation of the design upon approval - ensuring orders are placed, deliveries are set up etc.
Be on site for deliveries to assist with install day
Shopping for accessories and staging the space to complete the design vision
Creation and management of detailed FF&E document - ongoing updates and audits to the budget
Reno related projects – plan and oversee the renovation according to LUX standards, monitor timeline, quality of work and deficiencies
Reconciling purchases against FF&E
IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL DEMONSTRATE:
A minimum of 3 years working in the Interior Design industry with hands on experience in running your own projects (this is not a junior position)
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Professional, positive and mature demeanour
Ability to meet tight deadlines and multitask several projects at once
A "can do" motivated attitude and ability to take initiative
Hands on experience with renovation related projects – i.e, kitchens, bathrooms, basements, millwork, flooring etc. Must have working knowledge of how to manage contractors and deficiencies on site, manage the project schedule etc.
Excellent conceptual ability and ability to “read” the clients wants and needs
Strong working knowledge of Autocad, Photoshop / Illustrator / InDesign / Excel
Excellent ability to multi task and meet deadlines in a busy environment
*Valid licence and OWN CAR is required**
Must have diploma or degree in Interior Design.
