Python - Serial Port Access on Windows PC

To create a python program that will read all the COM ports available on a windows PC. The program should list all the COM ports found for selection. You tell me the easiest way that the COM ports can be listed; dropdown menu, or item list with an option box, etc. The program should have a Send Box and a Receive Box. Once a COM port is selected I should be able to send data to the COM port - There should be a 1 byte and 2 byte option. The one byte option allows numbers 1 to 256 to be entered into the send box. By placing the number in a box and hitting a send button that number is transmitted serial out of the COM port. The two byte option does the same thing but sends out two byte, a high byte and low byte. The number 1 to 65536 can be sent out In addition, any numbers send to the COM port should show up in the receive box. It will also have a one byte and two byte option. The one byte reads the serial information from the COM port and displays the number in the receive box. A new number erases the old number. The two byte option operates the same way but can read numbers 1 to 65536 coming into the COM port Serial Information: This two-byte number is: (hi byte * 256) + low byte = number. The default serial communication is: 9600 Baud, Inverted, 8 data bits, no parity and one stop bit. Other serial COM port speeds should be made available as an option.
