Blue Sea Hi there, sendmail and postfix are both MTA's, you don't need both. you don't necessarily need the SMTP(MTA) installed on all your W/LAMP hosts either. Preventing abuse (relaying) will be something to consider, I'm assuming you just want notifications to target the host owner organisations domain, otherwise setting up mailing list to be sent as marketing campaign maybe an issue and require SPF records etc. I'm trying to get established on this site but it's hard to get any bids accepted without any reviews, yet alone find projects that match my skillset.
