Add functions to my osCommerce site

i need to add some functions to my osCommerce site.

1) after clicking a certain "category" i want to be able to add a description paragraph on the landing page.

ie: McDonalds *click* McDonalds is a fast food restaurant, etc etc. Needs to have ability to insert an image like logo or banner.

2) I need to be able to change the products that show up on the homepage. "featured or new products".

Currently the products show up as the newest products added, i need to be able to select what shows up on the home page. There are 8 products showing up currently.

3) When i click the logo of the website, it goes to "[url removed, login to view]"

when it does that, the main page banners dont show up, i need it to link to just plain index.php.
