I have a table with 100 million rows in Synapse. I have a requirement to query on a part of a text column. It takes close to 30 secs to return the results in Synapse, it takes less than 10 secs for the same table in SQL server database.
I need to improve the performance of this table in Synapse. This table is using Round Robin Dristribution and it has Clustered Columnstore Index on it.
It sounds like the issue is more with the querying of part of the text column. If we can create a derived column containing the part that needs to be queried, we can build an index on that to further increase performance. Otherwise we could create a materialized view with the part that needs to be queried and pre-process that data.
I'm looking to build a repeat client base so I am willing to work with you on a fixed price basis for this project and maybe get the opportunity to work with you again.

Hi, this is a common issue in Synapsis. I've done some improvements in tables in DW related about it.
Some issues was related DTUs contracted or bad practices in modeling.
