We are looking for a top-notch Python developer to develop a Facebook application. Preference is for programmers with experience in Pylons OR Django OR Google App Engine. This PAID TEST project will require you to demonstrate your skills in Python and web applications using the Pylons application framework with SQLAlchemy. Good knowledge of XHTML, CSS, and Javascript a plus. We hope to build a long term relationship with successful candidates and provide additional projects upon completion of this project.
To ensure that you are the right person for our project we want to see your skills in action.
***************************************************************************************
The following is a PAID DEMONSTRATION PROJECT to show your stuff.
Please read the instructions carefully and bid on just this demonstration project.
If successful we will make arrangement with you to start the 'real' project(s).

DEMONSTRATION PROJECT INSTRUCTIONS
1. Build an authentication enable "quickstart" project using TurboGears 2.1beta2. This sets up a basic code tree that includes a Pylons MVC code tree, SQLAlchemy setup, and provides starter Mako templates.
2. Create a new user registration form which requires an email_address, password, zip code,. See [login to view URL] for more details.
2a. Registration form should verify if the email_address is not in use via AJAX methodologies (client-side validation via AJAX). Ideally employ a JQuery Plugin for client side form validation.
2b. Registration form should verify that selected password is at least 6 characters long and contains special symbols again using a JQuery Plugin for client-side form validation.
2c. Upon submission, the data should be validated that the Post Code is a valid code (check against a list you create); if it is not found in the list, return the user to the form with an appropriate validation error message.
3. Once registration is submitted, User should be taken to view that shows them their submission. This is a simple template that displays content.
4. Be able to explain via Skype the basics of what goes on during this registration process.
This small project demonstrates a knowledge of a basic skill set in MVC-based web development and a basic understanding of technologies: Pylons, SQLAlchemy, and JQuery. If you have come from Django or similar environment, you should be able to easily adapt to this.
Good luck!
