The Library: The Mirror, The window, and The sliding glass door.

I am the director of Library Media Services in Jefferson County Public Schools, Louisville, Kentucky. We are fighting for relevance in this digital age. We are striving to be future ready librarians and we are fighting an administration that believe libraries are obsolete. We have a lot of libraries that are pockets of excellence with balanced programs. The push is Makerspaces, STEM/STEAM, Robotics, etc... with the exclusion of literacy, guided inquiry, and research. OUR GOAL is to have makerspaces, stem/steam, and digital literacies, but not with the exclusion of literacy and inquiry. I'm try to tell the story of where we've been and where we're going... I have data that supports academic outcomes and would like it included.
