I would suggest doing a better job than counting Strings to solve your problem, I can get it done the best way by parsing XML and outputting what you need. Hello, this project will not be a problem for me. This is a one day job. I will make a parse function like this: P_ERR parse_message (const char *message, int *noof_channel, int *no_of_non_working_channel, int *no_of_working_channel) P_ERR - error while parsing (1 - error, 0 - no error) message - Input message noof_channel, no_of_non_working_channel, no_of_working_channel - Three parameters that are a parsing result as aked in the project description Best regards, ZMI
