I agree that the use of a stepper motor will be a better solution. To avoid position errors on the reset phase, I suggest the use of an end-of-stroke sensor (magnetic, mechanic ou optical) to read the valve position.
Yes. The program can be parametric to permit appropriate behavior depending on time, valve position, an so on. We only need to discuss the input method to configure those parameters.
