Hello. I'm an indie developer creating a 2D platform game in the style of older 16-bit games such as Super Mario World and Sonic the Hedgehog. Mostly based on the radical, cool animal game characters from the 90's.
I'm looking for someone who can compose an OST for the game using instruments that sound like they're from games found on the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis console. The tracks should also sound like music from the 90's but it can also lightly touch on the 80's. Music should mostly consist of retro sounding instruments (up to 70%) but the rest can be modern instruments. Feel free to use any samples in your music. For some of them I would ask you to use some MIDIs that I'll provide. Along with the music I would also like some short jingles and sound effects made for the game.
The workload will consist of:
-31 looping tracks between 2-3 minutes long (level tracks and map screen)
-16 short jingles (e.g. collecting a special item or completing a level)
-Around 30 sound effects (e.g. the player taking damage or explosions)
Along with your offer you can also make a demo song based on the given description below. The demo music can be up to a minute long. The track the first level of the game called Pinecone Forest.
-It is a Canadian inspired forest with mountains and a large lake on the background. Log cabins are dotted about the level belonging to the forest residents. What is normally a peaceful area of woodland is currently under siege from a small group of enemies and patches of forest fire.
-The use of a harmonica will be preferable for the track as that is the main character's signature instrument.
