Resumen del concurso

I need the 3d printable file for a dog FIGURINE. This is NOT for a simple illustration. This must be an original work as I need to copyright it. Those who try to submit the work of others will be rejected and reported.

File formats can be step, .stl, .x_t, .3mf, .sldprt. Please state your file type with your submission. Image files such as JPG, PNG, etc. are not acceptable.

This figurine, after printing, will be used as a form with which to make soap molds. Keep that in mind when coming up with a design. Thin legs, etc. will not work for a soap (though I understand there is no choice for the ears.)

The subject is a Pit Bull. I do not want a mean looking pitbull with slot of muscle, I want a friendly looking one. Cute or funny or cartoon like.

The first 4 pictures are of a figurine to give you an idea of a possibility. It is stout enough to be formed into a useable soap. The overall form, however, is completely up to the designer. The figurine should be approximately 3.5 inches tall, by whatever width balances that height so it can stand on it's own. Also note the detailing. It is clear enough that the features are recognizable, but simple enough that it will mold well and produce a good soap. Crazy detail will not work.

The next 3 pics are of a specific dog, a Pitbull, which will be the subject of this contest. 2 are photos, 1 is an illustration made from her. There is only 1 non-negotiable requirement for this project: The face of the piece must replicate this dog's smile. Teeth are not necessary, just the smile, show the tongue if you want. As far as the eyes, they can either be open or closed, your choice. Eyelashes (like in the illustration) are not needed. Again, this is a Pitbull.

I have also attached some pictures of 3D soaps I currently make so that you can see what the end use of this printed file will be.

Again, this is for a soap. I am not looking for an absolutely realistic figurine. Actually, a fun caricature would be preferred. No need to show it colored because all I am looking at is the form.

You will be showing me the 3 d computer model as an entry. Just something to generally show the form you are proposing. Wait until the contest is over to see if you win before you do the actual full file. I don't want anyone working too hard unless they win the contest.

I won't be evaluating anyone's entry while the contest is going on to prevent others from copying the work of those who's entries I really like. I will not waste anyone's time by requesting revisions while the contest is going on. I will do revisions with the winner after the fact. Hopefully doing it this way, no one is wasting their time or having their hard work stolen.

I will say this though: This is not the only dog I will be doing. While there will be only 1 winner for this contest, as I have done in other contests, I sometimes approach some of the non-winners to buy their entries after the fact. So, if you can't do this dog, but have another dog idea, submit it. You never know, I may contact you and ask to buy the file.

Also, at the end of the contest, 1/2 of the award will be given, the other 1/2 given when I have the file verified. Because this contest is "Guaranteed", I don't have buyer protection on this one. I need that 3rd party verification to make sure I get a good file.

PLEASE BE AWARE I WILL BE CHECKING ALL IMAGES TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE ORIGINAL WORKS! The first entry submitted was rejected because the alleged artist submitted pics from a site I found right away.

“I held this contest to hopefully find someone who could come at least close to a figuring I wanted made using my own dog as a model. No one came close. Actually, let me clarify, no one came close, except for Chaiwat's entry which was SPOT ON! I will be working with him again!”

No. I awarded because there was one that I really liked that was submitted early. No one was even coming close to that one. better to end early than have people start working on concepts.

Many people are submitting heads. I need a figurine of the whole dog, not just the head.

Your head has virtually no detail. I see it more as a wolf-like head than a pitbull. I'm looking for something "fun". To give you an idea, please look at the other entries that have not been rejected. They are, for the most part, simple, cute/funny, and, if one were to glance at them, one CV would imagine a pitbull.

There are do m as my rejections in this contest, and very few still showing as active entries. The reason for this in about 1/2 the cases is that only heads were submitted, about a 1/4 were copied works and the last 1/4 we either simple photographs of live dogs, clearly the we wrong breed of dog, or 'creatures' that more resembled monsters than dogs.

As of right now, 2 of the 4 submissions of 3d renders were not originals, but files or photos of work done by someone else's. Both were rejected and reported. Seriously, I AM using several image searches on ALL submissions. Do NOT enter if you are just going to steal from someone else!

can we split the body parts of the dog for easy and more clear molding or you need a single mold for the whole body. I was thinking of making different molds for legs tail and ears then you can combine them later.

You can separate head and body, but that would be the most. The figurine in the photos is actually done that way, with the head portion sliding into the body, the seam covered by the collar. Having to assemble too many separate parts would leave seams that would be picked up in the silicone mold and transferred to the soaps. Good question though.

Feel free to let me know if you find anyone cheating! The very first entry submitted was actually a previously published work from someone else. I will report plagiarism to weed out the dishonest ones!
